The Resonance Project |
The Resonance Project was a non-profit research and educational facility supported by a sustainable community on 40 acres above Kailua-Kona. The site housed about 30 community members and supported educational activities with the public. A large percentage of food for the community was supplied on site by several organic herb and vegetable gardens, as well as fruit orchards, and many varieties of food barring trees. The site also incorporated passive and active solar systems, composting toilets and greywater systems, the use of biodiesel and energy and water efficiency technologies. Steve was the sustainable systems manager for the site and helped design, implement and manage the sustainable aspects from the gardens to the composting toilets. |
